Modesto Medical Cannabis Protest

By Americans for Safe Access
Published October 27, 2008

On Tuesday morning, protesters will gather in broad support of Addison DeMoura and the California Constitution, and we will rally against the rogue Stanislaus County law enforcement who refuse to follow California's laws - choosing to persecute rather than protect patients in Stanislaus Co.

In July 2007, Oakdale SWAT, Stanislaus Co. Sheriff, and Stanislaus DEA raided Oakdale Natural Choice Collective (ONCC), which was operating legally within the confines of California law. ONCC had been operating publicly, and local officials were made well aware of all activity and patient support provided by the dispensing collective. Instead of protecting and upholding the law in California, as they're sworn to do, police took the law into their own hands raiding ONCC and arresting DeMoura. (for more information on this case, visit http://www.green-aid.com/defensefunds.htm)

"An administrative agency has no power to refuse to enforce a statute on the basis that federal law prohibits its enforcement."
- Article 3, SEC. 3.5 (c) California Constitution

Please do all you can to attend this event and pass it along to all your friends. We need to stand together to support Addison and to oppose these law enforcement tactics.

Thank you,

George
